Rodrigo Esteves
Baritone

Rio de Janeiro-born, the Spanish-Brazilian baritone, studied with Alfredo Colosimo, Renato Bruson and Raina Kabaivanska. Moved to Spain in 1991 where get started in the European theatres.

Since his debut in 1998, Esteves works in a large repertoire suitable to his clear timbre of great beauty. In opera, the role like Schaunard e Marcello (La Bohème), Alfonso XI (La Favorita), Silvio (I Pagliacci), Giorgio Germont (La Traviata), Mercutio (Romeo et Julliette), Conde de Almaviva (Le Nozze di Fígaro), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Rodrigo (Don Carlo), Valentin (Faust), Belcore (L’Elisir D’Amore) when was directed by Enzo Dara, Ford (Falstaff), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Renato (Un Ballo in Maschera) and protagonist in Macbeth became absolute under his acting.
Appreciated also are his performances in Songs, Lieds, Masses and Cantatas like “Carmina Burana” and “Das Lied von der Erde”.

His performances are marked as by great theatres like la Zarzuela of Madrid, Pamplona Opera, Colón of Buenos Aires, Theatro Municipal of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Teatro Amazonas of Manaus, Busseto, Jerez de la Frontera, Teatro Vittorio Emanuele of Messina, Spoleto, Perugia, Cagliari, Theatro São Pedro and Sala São Paulo besides a tour with the Spoleto Opera in Japan.

Rodrigo Esteves worked with conductors like Neschiling, Kamal Khan, Victor Derenzy, Stefano Ranzini, Peter Guth, Miguel Ángel Gomes Martínez, Helena Herrera, Mario Perusso, Silvio Barbato, Antoni Ros Marbá, Enrique Ricci, Alain Lombard, Alain Guingal, Marcelo Panni and sang with Silvia Tro, Ainhoa Artela, Fernando de la Mora, Carmela Remigio, Dimitria Theodossiou, Octavio Arévalo, Julián Konstantinov, Leontina Vaduva.

He has recordings of Operettas by EMI, a CD of Songs by Algol Editora in Brazil and coming soon “Das Lied von der Erde” by Mahler with OSESP.
